House wall

A studio's houses on a curved wall that turns with the scroll and opens one. For ARCO, an architecture studio. The houses hang on a wall curving round the reader, and the scroll turns it. It lands square on one house, which comes off the wall and opens into its own page, and as the page goes on its rooms come up and stack over it.

SCROLL

How it behaves

  • The name under the wall rolls over as each house passes the middle.
  • The word behind the wall comes in split into its colours the first time it is seen.
  • Each room card that lands pushes the ones under it back and down.

How it is made

  • CSS 3D: every house sits on a circle round the reader, and the circle turns.
  • At the stop the house lies flat in the page, so the opened page takes over from it without a jump.
  • The turn is quick to start and long to settle, like a heavy wall given a push.
